You can reduce manufacturing costs by fabricating prototypes via General Multi-Project-Wafer (MPW) runs or going for a mini@sic solution for particularly small designs. Standard & Advanced Packaging and System Integration services are also available to our customers. For selected technologies, EUROPRACTICE partners offer a route to Volume Production, including test and characterization services.
High costs of a prototype run can be shared among different customers by combining their designs into one mask set.
This technique, known as Multi-Project Wafer, reduces the cost of a full prototyping wafer run to 10% or even 5% of the initial price.
A minimum block size on General MPW runs is often larger than most designs created for educational purposes. Therefore, EUROPRACTICE has introduced the concept of mini@sic: Several times per year, a foundry standard MPW block is bought and resold in smaller and cheaper sub-blocks or mini@sics.
This solution allows to further lower prototype fabrication costs compared to General MPW runs.
Mini@sic options are available for the following technologies: | |
